The Existing Building

Several buildings exist on the property, and one of the main buildings is the historic mansion of Ismail Al Husseini (The Orient House). The mansion was built in Ottoman grand style and based on European designs with wooden and brick rooftop. It is the third house to be built in the Husseinyeh Neighborhood after the house of Rabah Effendi Al Husseini (currently part of the American Colony Hotel) and the house of Saleem Effendi Al Husseini (The museum of Dar Al-Tifel Al-Arabi School).

The original house has two floors and a basement. From the north eastern side, it is connected to a two-story building that was built in the late 1950s and another small building from the southern side, also built in the 1950s. There is another small building on the property with a room used as an accommodation for the security guard and another accommodation facility on the north eastern corner of the building. Added to that, there is a group of buildings surrounding a large yard also on the same land, all of which were utilized as a hotel before being transformed into the offices they are today.
